What a well documented clear headed essay. Thank you for keeping on. My mom is in Nainaimo, and in the same situation as you - as am I - but in Toronto. We critical thinking former lefties - need to be strategic and we need to find and support each other.

Thank you very much, Dawn! Feel free to connect me with your Mom. I may even know her already if she is in Nanaimo. We do indeed need to find each other in this difficult time where everything has been inverted.

I did tell her about you - sent your essays to her - and she does know of you! I think she will reach out eventually.

Hi Kim - I see this is the last article you wrote. I hope you are still publishing. So I am in Nanaimo now and was hoping we could all meet up at some point.

Thanks Mike! I guess neither of us can tweet it. haha! Twitter is becoming an astronomical black hole with all the disappearing voices there.

Really well laid out and thought out piece, Kim. Yes, the pandemic has brought on a collapse of (what remained of) the Left/Right paradigm and now we need to scrutinize and strategize differently. I think that, if we can survive it, the collapse will do us a lot of good.

I think so too. In long run (if there is to be a long run) this will be for the good, at least for some of us. I personally have undergone a lot of personal growth and intellectual growth and expansion as a result of the last 2+ years of being punished, banished, mocked, vilified and threatened... and witnessing same on a much larger scale across society. I think it's possible twitter will collapse or become redundant before this is over. It is actively gutting itself of the one thing that gave it its power - which was diversity of voices. And that's good actually, because it will create an opening for something new to arise and fill that void.

Ohhhhh FFS! Twitter is trash. I haven't read the whole entry above yet, Kim, but wanted to let you know I'll be sharing this in your absence from the deck of the sinking ship. Going to continue to call them out till they digitally disappear me too. Love and solidarity! (Btw, the latest Corbett #SolutionsWatch features Ryan Cristián of TLAV listing off the dozens of platforms he's been censored by. The list can serve as a heads-up to others, and as a reminder to you that you're in good company!)

Have you been able to speak with Alex Berenson? He's the first to be victorious against Twitter, they've apologized to him.

Alex Berenson had to sue twitter. I don't have that kind of money. And he had direct evidence that the White House pressured twitter to deplatform him. It was dynamite evidence of government interference from the highest level in his particular case. I don't have anything like that. Alex Berenson's case is quite singular and doesn't seem to have any bearing of the thousands of other credible voices deplatformed.

I'm glad he was re-instated. But his case is not opening the gate for anyone else, it seems.

Don't put too much trust in Musk. His reason for removing suspensions is to encourage subscriptions and turn Twitter into a WeChat-style platform.

I'm taking a wait-and-see approach. But so far so good. Twitter has greatly improved since he took over.
